Question About Trazodone: I Am A Victim Of Transvaginal Mesh...11

Question about Trazodone: I am a victim of transvaginal mesh...11 surgeries in 5 years...left with extensive scar tissue, severe nerve damage, infections, and now another 3 way prolapse. Seeing a pain management doctor...using 8 mg. dilaudid and waiting to be scheduled for another surgery...probably not until April or May at this point. Needing relief from pain and insomnia (1 1/2 - 3 hours / night)...was on amitriptyline (quit 1 month ago) and discovered on my own, that it had severely increased my urine retention and need for strong antibiotics for bad break through UTIs/Kidney Infections at least every 1-1/2 months (have been on a 100 mg. macrobid nightly preventive for approx. 1 year)......Desperate for a good night's sleep. Pain Doc suggested using Trazodone. I am on zarelto for DVTs and a PE. Is it safe to take this drug?
