Recently My 94 Year Old Grandmother Fell And Broke Her

Recently my 94 year old grandmother fell and broke her femur. The surgeon places a titanium rod in there for it to heal. A few weeks later i took her to get her staples removed and the bone doctor said after taking an xray that the rod went through her bone and that her surgery would have to be completely redone. Whats the likelyhood on doing it again?
