Recently On A Couple Of Occasions I've Had Pain In

Recently on a couple of occasions I've had pain in my groin area on my left leg. The next day after I have the pain, a small round bruise about the size of a pinto bean appears on the inside of my leg, and lasts a couple of days, then goes away. I've also had the unexplained bruises of the same type appear on the inside of my upper arms.
Is this just something that happens as we get older (I'm 62) or should I consult my doctor?
