Recently On The Palm Of My Hands My Skin Started

Recently on the palm of my hands my skin started to feel rough as though my skin was drying up. My left hand has now almost no sign of dry skin but in the palm of my right hand it has gotten worse to the point where my skin is so dry it is cracking and peeling. It burns and stings a bit and sometimes it itches. What can it possibly be?
P.S I do not suffer from any skin condition and I have never had this problem before. It started a month ago and just seems to be getting worse. Another thing is I work with a lot of paper and papers up to 2009.
