Recommend Treatment For Chronic Pain

I suffer from severe chronic pain and am having to go on a pain regime. I am doing research to find which medication best works for me. I am very worried about addiction,even though I will take this medication indefinitely, I do not want to HAVE to take the pills and when i hurt I want to take them and have the pain subside quickly. Do you have any recomendations?
