Sharp, Nerve-like Pain Just Above My Right Ankle. Totally Sporadic.

Sharp, nerve-like pain just above my right ankle. Totally sporadic. No regularity in the frequency. Once a day, several times a day, once or twice a week, a few times in a month, standing, sitting, sleeping. Whenever. No lingering pain, discoloration, soreness, or tightness. All or nothing. I'm coming up on a year of this. What is the problem?
