Should I Be Concerned When The Last 2 Periods Have Been Extremely Heavy And Painful Given My History Of Anemia?

I am a 41 yo woman . Never experienced heavy or painful periods in the past. The last 2 months my periods have been extremely heavy & painful. So heavy I m changing sanitary napkins hourly and bleeding through my clothing. I have a history of anemia & very concerned.
