Should I get my lead levels checked? Years ago (probably 5-7) I had a metal trinket that I now found out was made of lead. At one point it rubbed on my mouspad and left some grey dust-like residue I couldn't wash out. I used this pad for a few years before finally throwing it out. Is this lead (or whatever it was) still in my body? I also fairly regularly trap shoot and carry or handle guns and ammunition (I'm licensed to carry one) though I'm usually very good about washing my hands afterwards. Am I also supposed to clean my clothes and shower after shooting as well or is that obsessive? I ask because I've read some of the symptoms of lead poisoning and some seem to apply to me (aching joints and irritibility mostly). How cautious should I be with lead? Thanks.
