Should I See A Doctor Immediately For A Rapidly Growing, Painful Red Lump The Size Of A Grape?

I have a LARGE lump which has come on within the past 5 days. It s now the size of a large grape...red, no pus observed; it s not open..It s extremely painful. I can t stand warm compress, ice or anything touching it. I m seeing my private physician tomorrow. Should I go sooner?
