Should I Switch From Ice To Warm Compresses When My Cheek Became Bruised And Swollen After A Dental Filling And Novocaine Injection?

I had a dental filling done yesterday and while the Novocaine was being injected my cheek became swollen and painful. The dentist said that the medication must have went into my cheek. Today it is bruised and very swollen. Ice is not helping and that is what she told me to use. Should I be using warm compresses instead?
