Should I Use Birth Control While Going Through Menopause?

Hi, I am a women 52 years of age. I would like to know if I still need to be using some type of birth control. I am going through menopause and I did not write down when I had my last cycle however, I think it was at least 6 months ago. Is there some kind of test I can have to find out if I am still fertile or not? I DO NOT want to get pregnant at my age however, I am very tired of fighting my husband about using a condom or myself using a foam contraception aid. What might you suggest for me? I have two adult children.

I am 5'5 and weigh 186 pounds.
