Should I Use Ice Or Heat For Possible Carpal Tunnel

Should I use ice or heat for possible carpal tunnel syndrome? Will either one do harm or aggravate the pain? I have been to hand therapy for the past two months with little to no relief. I usually use ice and take daily naproxen with occasional Tylenol "bump". I will be seeing a hand specialist next week and have a referral to neurology. Any other home "therapies"?
