Should Norethindrone Be Continued For Heavy And Prolonged Bleeding?

Hi I m 48 years old , i had heavy period last month staying for about 3 weeks, I went to a gynecology and she give me norethindrone 5 mg , then I changed my doctor because they don t accept my insurance anymore , and the new one give me regular birth control , should I stop taking norethindrone ? Or take both ? Now im not bleeding any more , Thank you
