Should A Vascular Surgeon Be Consulted For Infection In Ankle?

Have been treated for infection caused by stick In ankle, I live on gold coast , and they say would have to have op, need a good vascular Dr surgeon , but was told some parts of hospital was closed ,is this true are all sections of hospital still working mainly vascular?
