Should Birth Control Pills Be Stopped Until The Periods Become Normal?

I messed up my birth control because I ran out and then forgot to take a week off when I got it renewed and my period was off. I thought it was back to normal, but then my period started again after only 1 week off. It has now been two weeks straight of my period and I'm about to start my normal period week. Should I stop taking my birth control after this week until my period is back to normal?
