Should Hysterectomy Be Immediately Done In Women With Prolonged Bleeding?

I am awaiting a total hysterectomy semi urgent I take 14 pills a day to keep from bleeding. I was told in Dec my surgery would be in the middle of February but no date given my husband changed jobs to be at home to look after me with February coming up as he is in the oilfield. I learned today my surgery will not be for at least another 6-8 months should I try to get in to see another dr? Apparently my dr only does surgery 1 day per month.
