Should I Start A New Birth Control Pill To Stop Spotting?

hello-my name is Jennifer. I am 28 years old and was on a monophasic bc pill for about 6 years. I went off for about a year and recently got back on but was put on Necon 777 which is a tri phasic. I messed up alot on my pills, missed 2 and then doubled up and I started spotting a dark brown discharge. So I stopped taking them to get a withdrawal bleed and decided I wanted to get back on a monophasic pill again since I ahd no problems with it. It has now been 7 days without taking an active pill (today is the 7th). I have a new set of pills which are the ones I was on before... can I just start those as a new pack tomorrow or should I stay off of birth control for a while? Im still spotting, instead of being dark brown, its more red. I dont need a tampon but there is still a little blood with some very very small tissue. Is my uterine lining just still shedding? The spotting/ bleeding is becoming bothersome.

My question is if I just take a break from birth control for a while and dont take an active pill withthe new brand tomorrow, will this spotting stop soon? Or should I start the new pills in order for the spotting to stop?

Thank you.

I had a recent pap and everything is normal.
