Should I Take Meloxicam 15 Mg If I Suspect I

Should i take Meloxicam 15 mg if i suspect I might have gastritis ? I recently had a right hemicolctomy. I developed an infection in the puncture from laprascopic surgery. I am still havng nurse come in to wick the incision to make it heal from bottom up. Infection is gone . About a month ago i started getting shooting pains. They are worsening. It soynds very much llike gastritis. My surgeon put me on the above meds. I started tonight.
