Should Medications Be Stopped In Elderly Person With Alzheimer's Post Concussion?

Hello, my mom is 81+ and has alzeimer and for the last 10 years she has been on medication and around Christmas she felt down and hurt her lower back and was sent to the hospital and they had to put her on morphine to ease the pain and they told my sister that they have to stop all other medication because of her age and state of mind and they said that she might go soon (dying). What do you think and if true, how soon do you think it might happen? She is in Quebec and I live in BC so I am worry. Can you help me?
