Should Scaly Flakes In Nose Be Peeled Off?

I'm pretty sure I have seborrheic dermatitis - scaly flakes around the crevasses of my nose. I'm going to start treating it with dandruff shampoo (zinc) and an antifungal. But can/should I peel the scaly fakes off my nose? They are very unsightly and I'd prefer to peel/pick them off with tweezers each morning. Is it okay?
