Should The Ovaries Be Removed In Case Of Simple Cyst?

I am a 56 year female post menopausal stopped periods 3 years ago never had any bleeding or spotting. First time last week had one tiny bit of spotting was at my gyn's did an ultrasound which showed 2.5 simple csyst on my ovary. CA 125 normal came back 1 but my
gyn still wants to do remove my ovary I asked if it was suspicious looking but she really didnt give me an answer I am scheduled for surgery in 10 days should I have another ultrasound or further testing before I proceed with surgery. This is really causing me extreme anxiety also I have under unusual high stress with other family medical problems.
