Should We Avoid Grape Fruit While Taking Synthroid?

Hi, I have been on synthroid since 2003 and have never had a problem with it. I also love grapefruit. A friend told me yesterday that on her bottle ( she takes the generic synthroid ) it says to not eat grapefruit. I take actual synthroid and it does not say to avoid anything on my bottle. Can you please advise me about this?
