Since 2004 (as Far As My Records Go Back) I

Since 2004 (as far as my records go back) I have had elevated calcium in my blood tests. My PC wants me to go to an endo doctor. I think he is suspicious that I have a tumor(s) in my parathyroids. I cannot see an endo until April. My question is, shouldn't I go to a general surgeon for him/her to order the CT rather than an endo?
