Since Last Monday November 9, I Have Had Blood Seeping

Since last Monday November 9, I have had blood seeping through my anus . I visited a GP and after a finger insertion in anus did not come out with blood. Do I need to go through a gastro-enterologist colonoscopy.
Tonight, after a week of rest at home, the pain felt on the left side of anus has almost disappeared.
What is to be done ? It may be interesting to know that I have been going 4 times a day to the bathroom and only twice a day did defecate.
