Sir My Son Is 4.5years Old And Has Nearsightedness Since

Sir my son is 4.5years old and has nearsightedness since age of 2.his powera r -1.25right n -1left cylindrical.the eye speacialist advised no glasses initially n. Asked usto do checkup in evry 6 months.But when we did checkup recently his right eye power increased frm 1to 1.25 nnow hasbeen asked to wear glasses.should he be wearing glasses through out n has the eye power increased due to not wearing glasses.please advise
