So I Had A Pretty Bad Viral Infection About Two

So I had a pretty bad viral infection about two years ago and shortly after I began to only smell chemical when smelling anything...flowers, garlic, whatever. Of course my sense of taste is totally gone. My question is, is there anything I can do to fix this? How long is this supposed to last? Thank you
