So I Have A Recurring Red Bump In My Pubic

So I have a recurring red bump in my pubic area. I have never had sex and it is not on my vagina so not an STD. It is not painful unless I put pressure on it. I think I plucked a hair from that spot and then it had a black head, so I got rid of it (this was a long time ago) but it returned. It comes back for about a week and then subsides for a couple weeks, then returns. Is it an infected follicle? Should i go to the dermatologist ASAP? Is it dangerous? I've never popped it, by the way. Thank you!
