So I Live In Connecticut. Considering There Is Very Little

So I live in Connecticut. Considering there is very little sun most times in the year I don t get much exposure. Additionally, my family has always swam in an indoor pool. That being said, is it okay to use a tanning bed for like a week before I go back to school? I am blonde hair, blue eyed and very fair skinned but I see myself using a tanning bed as being the equivalent to the sun exposure to which everyone else gets? Am I wrong?
