So My Uncle One Time Was Good Friends With A

So my uncle one time was good friends with a dentist, I dint remember the whole story but I remember getting huge tubs of these grey plastic pieces. And they all snapped together to form some weird looking tool. The top looked like an upside down l with a ball at the end. And the bottom looked like an l but had like a bowl looking thing on it. I forget what the middle looked like. Can you help me identify the tool?
