So My Wife Received An Allogenic Stem Cell Transplant For

So my wife received an allogenic stem cell transplant for aml and mds, they did a post transplant bone marrow biopsy on say day 20 ish. They found 1% blasts. Now they want to put her on a 5 day chemo regimen to "wake up" the hosts donated cells. How does chemo wake up the host cells?
