Sometimes When I "swallow Crooked" And Water Gets Into My

Sometimes when I "swallow crooked" and water gets into my windpipe, I am completely unable to breathe no matter how much I try to inhale. It's as if my trachea collapses no longer allowing any oxygen in. Panic sets in as I gasp for air. Eventually, after a moment or two of gasping, the trachea opens again little by little, until I can take a full breath. I am fearful that one day the trachea will not reopen and I will suffocate. Is that possible? Is this a treatable condition or just try not to swallow the wrong way? Thank you.
