Soreness In The Lingual Frenulum.Cause?

Hi, I occasionally feel as though my lingual frenulum is sore when I stretch my tongue toward the back of my mouth. I also noticed what seems like a skin tag on the floor of my mouth and swelling under the tongue. Could this be an infection or something I need to get checked out?
