Started New Job Recently. Noticed During Week That Right Thumb

Started new job recently. Noticed during week that right thumb (area) feels sore. I figured that at my age I would need some time to adjust to the physicality of the job. It has happened to me before. The I noticed that the right hand tingles if I hold my hand a certain angles. This is a feeling in the past I would describe as "going to sleep". Going to sleep usually happens for me when there is restricted circulation, like sitting with bent leg. So in back of my head I'm wondering if there might be more going on than a sore thumb.
