Suggest OTC Drugs For Ingrown Hairs In Pubic Hair With Swelling

I usually get ingrown hairs around my pubic region, however today there is a new ingrown hair although with a good amount of swelling about 2 inches right above and on the side of my private region. Any suggestions for treatment or what could this be. So far I have only soaked in warm water, should I get Drawing Salve Ichthammol Ointment? I want to try OTC/Remedies options for a few days before I consult with a Doctor.
