Suggest Wysolone Dosage To Prevent Eruption Of Blisters Due To Bullous Pemphigoid
Hello. Thank you so much. My Father (90 yrs) is presently under medication (Wysolone) after he was diagnosed with having bullous pemhigoid disease. He was initially given 40 mg for a period of a week or so and then it was reduced gradually to about 15 mg a day. However, there is renewed eruption of blisters. Then the doctors increased the dose to 30 mg every alternate day. The result is yet not all that encouraging because the day after medication the number of blisters are about 4 or 5, but the day following non-medication the number fo blisters increases to about 10 (5 small ones and 5 fairly big ones). We are puncturing the blisters to take out the fluid when they become large. Do you advise that the dose be increased, say 30 mg every day, instead of alternate days? Regards, Kunal
