Suggest An Alternative Medication For Metformin

I am currently taking metformin for type 2 diabetes. I was taking 500 mg after breakfast and dinner. My readings have not been good lately. I am now taking 750 mg after breakfast and dinner but it is causing alot of diareha. Is there any other medication that I could take that would not upset my stomach
