Suggest Birth Control Methods

Hi my wife is carring now. After my first baby we dont want any baby for some years (probably 6-8 yrs, later we will decide accordingly).



My wife heared some thing like avoiding pregnency with taking injection both husband 1 injection and wife 1 injection. With taking injection both the couples they can prevent pregency upto until they need.



My doubt is , is some thing realy like this or some one bluffed this to my wife. If some thing is there then is it safe for me and my wife to adopt after my 1st baby.
