Suggest Cause And Remedy For Red Spot Behind The Knee

hi, i have a red circle spot but its behind my knee. last summer it was about the size of a quarter and now its about double that. the color is like a red and also a purple. the spot does not hurt, itch, nor do i even feel it is there. please, can you give me a possible explanation for this?
