Suggest Correction For Defect In The Voice

HI, I am venkata. I having a problem with my voice. My voice resembles a girl voice(especially Over phone). Is there any treatment for this. I have consulted one doctor. he said there is some gap between vocal chords in the voice box. Can it be rectified. I wanted to have a second openion. Please suggest.
