Suggest Cure For A Swelling On The Nose

My husband went to urgent care this morning to get relief from a long lasting cold/congestion issue. He woke up this morning with a huge,red, swollen nose. Doctor at urgent care didn't say much about it and gave him Ceftin to clear up infection. Since getting home from doctor his redness has moved under his eyes and into cheeks, and has now formed some watery blisters on his nose. Anything else we should be doing to relieve this tender inflamation??? Or will antibiotic, given time, take care of it? If so, how long should it take? He is looking like the elephant man! Thanks.
