Suggest Cure For Lump In The Throat Which Is Causing Difficulty In Swallowing

I have a red throat and a lump that I can feel there all the time iritating me but hurts when I swollow, I have had this for 8 weeks saw doctor tuesday and he gave me anti biotics but just as bad now after 3 days of taking them. Should I have seen an improvement yet?
