Suggest Cure For Severe Pain In The Throat

Hi,
More than 2 weeks ago I had some sort of virus. I felt like there was a knife in my throat and it hurt when I swallowed. It went away after 3 days. Lately the feeling in my throat comes and goes. i dont know what it is if maybe there is a sore in the way back of my mouth or my glands. sometimes they feel sore. I am just wondering if I should go see a doctor. Last night it kept me up for awhile.
