Suggest Dosage Of Cipro And Flagyl For Diverticulitis

I was given Cipro and Fagyl for diverticulous. Am I supposed to take them together or a few hours apart? The first night I took them together and felt really terrible, besides I hadn't had much to eat. Don't the side effects ever get better? I won't last 10 days! Thank you.
