Suggest Medication For An Infection On The Scrotum

Doctor, when I was in the shower I felt a stinging on the side of my scrotum. I noticed a very small crack and when I sprayed the shower water on the area it would sting some more. It did not bleed, or itch (small single crack)....and I have never seen it before in this area before. I could feel it for a few days as I walked around and then it just disappeared or I guess healed. I have read so much about herpes and that it can be very minor, so I became concerned due to the area. Is this a sign of herpes?
