Suggest Medication For Blood Blister Under The Toe Nail

My big toenail has separated from the nail bed. I had blood blister under the nail about a year and a half ago which eventually grew out and ruptured. Now the area under the nail is just a large dried out pocket. What can I do to get the nail bed to attach to my nail? I want to keep the pocket clean so it doesn't get infected, but it seems like cleaning it out with a utensil is preventing the bed from reconnecting with my nail. Any advice on a regimen to keep the nail clean and promote my skin to reattch to the nail?
