Suggest Medication For Dryness In Throat And Chronic Cough

I have had a cold?? for the last 9 days, it started as a sore throat and now it seems to be just dry throat and severe coughing. I have tried, tylenol cold/flu, sudafed, musinex and nothing stop the coughing and dry throat. I even have water on the stove to put moisture in the house. Any ideas on how I can get rid of the coughing? I am not getting much sleep as I wake up choking about every half hour.
