Suggest Medication For Extreme Dry Skin In A Child

my son has a dryskin since birth doctor asked me to apply onabet cream on the affected area i.e on backside of his body i think this cream is not working bcoz when iam applying it the affected area is becoming so much rough den what should i apply to him please help
