Suggest Medication For Painful Lump On The Back Of Neck

Hi, I have a lump on the back of my neck currently. It s really painful and swollen and I don t have much of a range of motion. I have a really bad cold. Could this be a swollen gland? It s been there for about 2 days, I just found out about it yesterday. It s about an inch below my hair line and it s pretty big. about the length of a golfball or a bit longer. Pain medication doesn t help. Nor does a heating pad. I ve tried something called Biofreeze that a chiropractor recommended to me a long time ago but nothing is working. Should I have this checked out? My voice is really hoarse and my throat hurts with it. But all of a sudden this cold and lump just hit me. Should I be worried?
