Suggest Medication For Skin Infection Causing Itching

My son 11 started itching 2 days ago. Now it is so bad it is waking him up and leaving tiny purple bruises under the skin everywhere. He also seems like he is in pain. I have to make him an appointment with his Dr. But I am really worried they don't open for awhile.
