Hi, I am a 20 year old female with a serious-looking mosquito bite. This sort of extreme reaction from a mosquito bite has only happened to me once before this. It started out as two small bites that quickly turned into one small swollen bump (what a typical bite would look like.) As the day progressed it got itchier and redder. Over the next couple of days the swelling increased and the color got darker. The affected area grew to around 4 inches and was hot and stiff to the touch, extremely red, extremely swollen, and extremely itchy. Its been 4 days since I first noticed the bite and right now the area is still the same size, the swelling has almost gone down completely, its red, warmer than the rest of my arm, and very itchy at times. What type of reaction is this, why does it happen randomly, and what can I do to reduce the redness and swelling. Thank you
